An invitation to all area high school students: Come and join the Oldenburg Academy Dare to Dance Club August 24, 2010 The "Dare to Dance" Ballroom Dance Club of Oldenburg Academy will have its first meeting on Friday, Sept. 10th. The Club meetings will consist of one hour instruction with Dr. Chris Ault and will meet on Fridays, Sept. 10, 17, 24, Oct. 15 and Nov. 12 from 3:45-4:45 at Oldenburg Academy. Dances are planned for Oct. 1, Oct. 29 and Dec. 3. Students will have the opportunity to Swing, Waltz, Mambo, Cha-Cha and Hustle to traditional ballroom dance music as well as their very own modern pop music. Dr. Chris and Lori Ault have competed in many amateur ballroom dancing competitions, while claiming first place in six Swing competitions. They have been teaching extensively in the Batesville area for the past 25 years as well as performing in 54 stage productions. Dr. Ault is very excited to help get this club off the ground, where he will give students the confidence and skills needed to truly dance the night away! Click here to download the Dare to Dance permission form. Teens need to bring this form to the first club meeting. The enthusiastic Oldenburg students who are forming the club are sophomores Maria Keck and Theresa Brunsman. Keck described dancing as "flying on the wings of an angel" and added, "Dance is a way to release your stress, to express yourself, and to escape reality." The Challenge? DARE TO DANCE! It’s free and you get the opportunity to meet teens from all over Southeastern Indiana. Hope to see you in the OA auditorium at 3:45 pm on September 10, 2010!
